Amsterdam

Andrew and I just came back from a week in Amsterdam. The trip was his family's and my surprise birthday present to him. We loved every moment of it. We stayed in a cosy houseboat in Zeeburgerpad, just a while away from Centraal Station, and took buses and trams when we had to, but mostly walked everywhere. Amsterdam is a great city for walking, and after 4 months of dancing and rehearsals for Spring Awakening, my legs were strong and could take it (Andrew's, not so much). We took a train to Walibi World on one of the days, but got on the wrong platform, and so ended up in a place called Nunspeet. Of course, we also did all the things tourists in Amsterdam usually do - we explored the Red Light District, went to the Amsterdam Dungeons, and also the Sex Museum and the Zoo. On Saturday evening we watched the Eurovision at an Irish Pub on Marie Heinekenplein with my friend Colette and her boyfriend, Michael. On Wednesday evening we went to Leidseplein to watch this hilarious comedy show called Boom Chicago; yesterday evening we had dinner at an Australian restaurant in Rembrandtplein.

I'm a bit sad to be back, though happy to see my parents and Gaia again. I would love to spend some time living in Amsterdam. It might happen, maybe in the future. Andrew's certainly not opposed to the idea. But, for now, I'll leave you with this:
